What COVID-19 vaccines are available?

The following COVID-19 vaccines have received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the prevention of COVID-19:

    The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for use in persons 12 years of age and older.
    The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for use in persons 18 years of age and older.
    The Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine for use in persons 18 years and older.

All COVID-19 vaccines are free to Floridians. The Florida Department of Health will continue to provide information to the general public as other COVID-19 vaccines become available.

Can I get a COVID-19 vaccine now?

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available throughout Florida and you can get one now.

All Florida residents 12 years and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for persons age 12 and up. The Moderna and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccines are authorized for persons age 18 and up.

Do I need to be a resident of Florida to receive the COVID-19 vaccine?

Both full-time and seasonal residents are eligible to get their COVID-19 vaccines in Florida. Someone should only get their shot in Florida, however, if they will be in Florida for the time period needed to receive both shots.

    Hospitals are administering COVID-19 vaccine to health care workers with direct patient contact, including health care workers in their communities, as well as persons 65 years of age and older and hospital providers may vaccinate persons who they deem to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19.
